These Days, good news is coming for Indian tourists every day. After Thailand, Sri Lanka and Malaysia, Indonesia is also considering giving visa free entry to Indian citizens. The Indonesian ministry has proposed to issue free entry visas for travelers from 20 countries including India.
Indonesia’s Tourism Minister Sandiaga Salauddin Uno said that the provision of free entry visa in 20 countries is expected to increase foreign tourist travel, which will have a manifold impact on the country’s economy. He said that this will also boost domestic consumption, attract investment and support the development of digital economy. He also added that they are targeting quality tourists, especially long-stay tourists who spend more in the local economy he said.
According to official figures, more than 16 million foreigners came to Indonesia in 2019, before the Corona pandemic. At the same time, from January to October this year, 9.49 million foreign tourists came to Indonesia. If it is compared with the same period last year, the number of tourists has increased by about 124 percent.
