Thailand has updated its entry rules for Indian travellers from September 15, 2026. Now, Indian ordinary passport holders travelling to Thailand for tourism and travel can enter without a visa and they can now stay for up to 30 days. Earlier, Indian travellers were allowed to stay for up to 60 days under the visa free rule which was introduced in 2024.
If planning a trip to Thailand, there are a few important things needed to keep in mind. First, travelers passport should be valid for at least six months from the date they arrive in Thailand. If your passport is close to expiring then it is better to renew it before the trip. Travellers should also need carry at least THB 20,000 in cash per person, which is around 57,899 in Indian Rupees. This is the financial requirement mentioned for travellers entering Thailand under the visa exemption scheme. Travellers need to have a confirmed return or onward flight ticket. Make sure you have your hotel booking or other proof of accommodation as well. It is a good idea to keep these documents saved on your phone so you can easily show them if asked. One important thing to remember when travelling to Thailand is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC). Visitors need to complete it online within 72 hours before arriving in Thailand. So, make sure you fill it out before your flight to avoid any last minute hassle.
The Thailand Embassy has also shared an important reminder for travellers transiting through Thailand. If Thailand is only a transit stop and not your final destination, make sure you have all the necessary documents and visas required for the country you are travelling to.
