Singapore witnesses a huge numbers of Indian tourist’s arrivals

According to the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), the number of Indian tourists visiting Singapore has increased significantly. In the first quarter of 2023, over 193,230 Indian tourists visited Singapore, which is about 3.5 times more than the number of Indian tourists who visited in 2022. The STB also announced that Singapore received over 2.9 million visitors in the first three months of 2023, which is 62 % of the first quarter figure of 2019.

Singapore has seen a large number of Indian tourist’s arrivals due to the country’s many new attractions, as well as the affinity that Indian travelers feel towards Singapore’s Indian culture and heritage. One of the article also mentions that Indian residents are among the highest spenders globally. In addition, Singapore was one of the first countries in the region to reopen its borders with no quarantine, and is perceived to be a safe destination having handled the corona virus outbreak well. This has encouraged a large number of visitors to the country, including Indian tourists.

The surge in Indian tourist arrivals has helped Singapore’s tourism industry recover from the pandemic. Indian residents are now the fourth largest source of tourist arrivals in Singapore, after Indonesians, Malaysians, and Australians.
