Ha Long Bay

H? Long Bay or Halong Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and popular travel destination in Quang Ninh province, in Northeast Vietnam, jointly managed by Quang Ninh and Hai Phong provinces. The name H? Long means "descending dragon". About 180 km from Hanoi, the bay belongs to H? Long city, Cam Pha city, and is a part of Van ?on district, comprising approximately 1,500 km2, with an average travel time of 3.5 hours. This iconic bay features 1,969 karst and limestone islands and islets in various shapes and sizes. H? Long Bay is a center of a larger zone that includes Bai Tu Long Bay to the northeast, and Cat Ba Island to the southwest.
