Hue

Hue, the southernmost coastal city in the North Central Coast region, in the Central of Vietnam, nestled along the banks of the Perfume River, is a popular tourist destination, thanks to its extensive UNESCO-designated complex of imperial palaces, tombs and temples. The Complex of Hue Monuments was recognized as a UNESCO world heritage site in 1993. It is an imperial palace complex at the heart of Hue city, Thua Thien– Hue province. Known for its cultural, architectural and historical significance. The complex encompasses the Imperial City of Hue, with palaces and shrines; the Forbidden Purple City, once the emperor's home; a replica of the Royal Theater; as well as temples and monuments in the city's outskirts.

Hue is a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts, culture lovers and travelers seeking a unique experience in Vietnam. With its rich imperial heritage, Hue offers a unique glimpse into Vietnam's past, showcasing magnificent palaces, majestic temples, serene pagodas, and tombs that are steeped in centuries of history. A few French-style buildings lie along the south bank of the Perfume River. Among which are Hue High School for the Gifted, the first high school in Hue, and Hai Ba Trung High School, offering the history of Vietnamese education. In addition to the various touristic attractions in Hue, the city also offers daytrips to the Demilitarized Zone lying approximately 70 km north, showing various war settings like The Rockpile, Khe Sanh Combat Base or the V?nh Moc tunnels.
