Exploring Kumai, one of the lesser-known offbeat destination of North Bengal is an attractive option for a short stay especially by nature and bird lovers. Located at a distance of around 85kms from Siliguri/NJP and Bagdogra Airport respectively. New Mal Jn. (NMZ) is just 25 kms away is the nearest railway station from where you can hire or book a car and travel through the Chapramari forest and reach the beautiful destination after approximately two and half hrs of road journey. The best decision while planning the itinerary for vacation would be a one or two night stay at Kumai to unfold the peace & rural destination of Eastern Dooars region in West Bengal.

You can have glimpses of mesmerizing sunrise and sunsets on a clear day and panoramic view of the entire Dooars region, Bhutan, plains of Bengal, tea gardens. Gurdaray View Point, Bhutan View Point, Kumai Peak Halley view point, Laliguras View Point, and the Peacock Point (natural habitat of peacocks) are some notable sightseeing spots. Kumai is popular among tourists throughout the year because of the great weather it experiences during winters and summers. However during winters & summers the prices generally shoot up because of the massive tourist inflow, an alternative moderate budget option would be during monsoon (June – September), with relatively lesser cost when the place is less frequented by tourists.
