Bunkulung is around 35Kms from Siliguri and 13 Kms from Mirik. It is a picture-perfect Himalayan village surrounded by forest cover, water streams and hills. Bunkulung is an agricultural hub of Mirik subdivision at Darjeeling district of West Bengal in India. Bunkulung is full of farm lands and organized fisheries. Bunkulung is good for nature lovers. View of the water stream of the Balasun river is exclusive in Bunkulung. A new road with a new bridge connects Bunkulung with Kurseong town at the opposite hill via Sepoydhura.
From siliguri one has to travel to Dudhia and from Dudhia has to travel uphill and after 4th sharp bend of the road, has to take a deviation to the right to reach Bunkulung. Or one can travel to Manjukhola on the way to Mirik and from Manjukhola the only road going downwards leads to Bunkulung.
A few homestays have come up in Bunkulung in budget and standard category. Gorkhaland Territorial Administration is having one guest house at Bunkulung. There is one river activities campsite in Bunkulung for the tourists with tented accommodation facilities.
